雪中梅 (Plum blossoms in the snow) is a fanzine created for Namjinists in the fandom that hopes to feature works of art and fiction that will feature Namjin as its central characters. The theme of the zine is centered around spring and the beauty that it brings. However, contributors are free to tell their stories and paint Namjin in any trope that they wish to!The name of this zine is inspired by the lyrics of Winter Flower, a song by our leader in collaboration Younha! The message that we hope to inspire is that the love between Namjin are able to withstand even the coldest of winters and will be able to bloom when spring breaks.
Zine Specifications
The zine would be A4 sized (8.75” x 11.25”) with a resolution of 300 dpi and in full colour and will be available digitally and physically.The zine will feature a total of 35 contributors:
- 13 page artists,
- 1 cover artist
- 5 merchandise artists, and
- 12 writers
- 4 guest contributors*This might increase or decrease depending on the applications and interestPage artists
Page artists may work individually to create either 1 vertical piece, 2 vertical pieces, or 1 horizontal spread and have the option for their pieces to be comics. Page artists may also work with writers to create an accompanying piece for the writer's story or a comic.Writers
Writers may work solo to create a 1500-2500 word story. Writers may also work with page artists to write an accompanying piece for the writer's story or a comic.Merch Artist
Merch artists will create digital merch for digital or printable use or physical merch if there is a physical version of the zine. Exact merch is unconfirmed and will be updated once the interest checks are done!
We acknowledge the grey areas of real person shipping and want to assert that we intend no disrespect toward Namjoon and Seokjin as artists and individuals and do not claim that this is representative of them as people.
Any of the relationships portrayed in this zine between the two of them are not claimed to be real and are completely fictional.
We hope that this zine will bring everyone joy and happiness with its content, and we thank everyone for their support and love for this project. Thank you for reading!

GENERALWhat is a (fan)zine?
A zine is a published, physically printed and/or digital collection of illustrations and written works, made by fans for fans. All fanzines are different, some include merch like acrylic charms, standees and so on.What is the zine's concept?
The zine will be surrounding Namjin and the aesthetics and themes of spring. This will be a requirement to feature in all stories and art pieces.Is the zine going to be digital-only/printed-only?
We will be having both digital and physical zines!How many contributors are you going to accept?

This zine will be split profit between contributors and a charity with 50% going to contributors and 50% going to charity. We will discuss the charity that we will be donating our profits to at a later time!Also please note that profits will only be calculated after taking into account the cost of shipping and producing the zine for contributors in the event that there is a physical zineIs the content only romantic relationships?
Nope! Creators are free to create content that they prefer be it something platonic/romantic etc.How long are the final writing pieces going to be?
Fics have a limit of 2500 words.Will contributors get a free copy fof the zine?
All contributors will definitely get a free digital copy of the zine. Depending on whether or not there will be a physical zine, we will have to see if it is fiscally possible to have contributors get physical copies of the zine!Will there be nsfw content in the zine?
Nope there won't be. This will be a fully sfw zine!How will we be contacted?

Nope although it is highly recommended to include pieces that at least include them as main features so we can see how you write/draw Namjoon and Seokjin.Does my application have to be completed/published works?
No. Remember this is a portfolio piece, submit what you think it will represent your work the best.Can I include NSFW content in my application?

Yes, as long as the work that you provide is high quality even after they are scanned. Final submissions will need to be submitted at a quality of at least 300dpi.WritersIs there a maximum word count for applications?

Sure! Just remember that there is only 1.5k words allowed for the application so if you're confident that it shows characterisation, then you're more than welcome to!Merch and cover artistsDo I need to have produced merch in order to apply as merch artist?
No. You don't need experience making merch in order to be accepted as a merch artist. If you have designed some in the past it's a bonus, but not a requirement.
Applications
We will be accepting 1 cover artist, 10 fic writers, 2 poets, 5 merch artists, and 13 page artists through applications.Applicants will be expected to provide at least 3 pieces of work and a maximum of 5 pieces of their best works on top of a portfolio link. Each role tab will outline what the expectations of each role is!Both SFW and NSFW works are allowed for applications, however, do note that as of now, there will only be a sfw zine!Portfolio links maybe in the form of google drive links or twitter threads/moments. However, please ensure that we do not have to wade through your other tweets!If you are using any Google Drive links, please make sure your share settings for the link allow us to view it.

- We are accepting 13 page artists in total
- Your application should show us what to expect and a consistent style that you would use for your final zine piece. Please do not include NSFW works unless you have to as a sample and please ensure there are necessary tags with the links where required.

- Consistent art style
- Originality (redraws of music videos and photos are okay but we would like to see you be able to draw your own ideas!)
- Ability to draw full/completed rendered pieces with backgrounds
- Traditional artists! You are more than welcome to apply as long as you can provide a clear and clean scan of your piece in 300DPIRequirement
- For Page artists, we ask for a minimum of 3 finished pieces for your samples, (preferably with a member/s of BTS and completed backgrounds) and a maximum of 5. Please ensure that all of your links are open for viewing and your portfolios are easy to navigate through!
- Portfolios can either be in the form of Google drive files or social media links (twitter moments, twitter threads etc.)
- Namjin as a ship isn’t compulsory but highly encouraged to have at least 1 of Namjoon and 1 of Jin
- At least 1 piece must feature either Seokjin and Namjoon each
- At least 1 piece should be a fully rendered with background
- We will be following a pitch system to finalise the idea of what you will be creating for the zineExpectations

- Your final piece will have to be in CMYK,PNG, PSD and within the provided template
WRITERS
- We are accepting 12 writers altogether; 10 fic writers and 2 poets
- Your application should show us what to expect and a consistent style that you would use for your final zine piece. Please do not include NSFW works unless you have to as a sample and please ensure there are necessary tags with the links where required
- Please remember that your final piece for the zine must be SFW and will not include explicit content or any themes against our rules. This zine is rated T and will include member x member shipping.
Judging criteria
- Good grammar, spelling and sentence structure
- Good characterisation
- Good flow and pacing
- Ability to create good stories with shorter word limits
Requirement
- Provide a portfolio as well as at least 3 pieces; each with a maximum of 1.5k words
- Portfolios can either be in the form of Google drive files or social media links (twitter moments, twitter threads etc.)
- Excerpts are allowed although we do encourage finished pieces to see your ability to write stories with the stupilated word cap
- Namjin as a ship not required to be the main ship but highly encouraged to feature
- At least 1 work must have Namjoon and Seokjin as main characters

- Provide one (1) Namjin-themed, story between 1.5k-2.5k words.
- Ability to adhere to the schedule and meet deadlines.
MERCH ARTISTS
- We are accepting 5 merch artists in total
- Your application should show us what to expect and a consistent style that you would use for your final zine piece. Please do not include NSFW works unless you have to as a sample and please ensure there are necessary tags with the links where required.
Judging criteria
- Good knowledge of anatomy, color, lighting, composition and perspective
- Consistent art style
- Originality (redraws of music videos and photos are okay but we would like to see you be able to draw your own ideas!)
